Should you need help setting up your NHS app please contact the surgery, and we will be happy to help you. There are also YouTube videos on how to set your NHS app up should you wish to use them.
Let’s help save the NHS money by only ordering the medication you need each month.
- Check your stock levels at home before ordering.
- Only tick what you need each month when making your requests.
- If a pharmacy orders for you make sure they call you to check what medication you need monthly.
- All this can help save our NHS.

Healthier Neighbourhoods Returns to Wirral Wellness Festival 2026
Our Healthier Neighbourhoods team is delighted to be returning to the Wirral Wellness Festival this year on the 12th & 13th September, where we’ll once again be meeting residents, promoting healthier lifestyles, and connecting people with health and wellbeing support available across our communities.
Taking place this September, the festival brings together local organisations, wellbeing experts, and community groups for a day dedicated to health, wellness, and positive living. As a returning partner, we are looking forward to being part of another fantastic community event and speaking with visitors about the many ways they can improve and maintain their health and wellbeing.
Throughout the festival, our team will be on hand to chat about all things health and wellbeing, offering advice, support, and signposting to services available across our Primary Care Network (PCN). Visitors will also be able to find out more about local groups, activities, and community support services designed to help people stay well, connected, and active.
This year, we will be placing a particular focus on cancer screening as part of our campaign to improve awareness and understanding of screening programmes. Our team will be encouraging conversations around the importance of screening, helping residents understand what programmes are available, who is eligible, and why attending appointments can play a vital role in the early detection and treatment of cancer.
By providing clear information and addressing common questions or concerns, we hope to empower more people to make informed decisions about their health and take up the screening opportunities available to them.
Whether you’re looking for advice on improving your wellbeing, want to learn more about local support services, or have questions about cancer screening, we’d love to see you at the festival.
For more information about the event and to purchase tickets, visit Wirral Wellness Festival.
We look forward to joining residents, partners, and community groups for what promises to be another inspiring and enjoyable celebration of health and wellbeing across Wirral.
Cancer Wellbeing Group Announcement
The Cancer Wellbeing Group will resume on Tuesday 1 September at Paxton Medical Group, Claughton, from 10:00am to 11:30am.

New Mental Health Support Service Now Available
We are pleased to introduce a new Mental Health Social Prescribing Service, designed to support patients who may be finding life challenging and would benefit from extra time, understanding, and practical support.
Our team of Mental Health Social Prescribers, who are qualified counsellors, are here to listen, understand, and help. We recognise that life can sometimes feel overwhelming, whether you are coping with anxiety, depression, bereavement, loss, loneliness, difficult life events, or challenging social circumstances.
Unlike a traditional appointment, our Mental Health Social Prescribers can offer dedicated time to explore what matters to you and help identify the support that may make a difference. Support may include telephone triage, one-to-one face-to-face appointments, counselling sessions, signposting to local services, group workshops, and wellbeing courses.
We believe that talking through problems, sharing concerns, and finding practical ways forward can help people regain confidence and feel more in control of their wellbeing. Our aim is to empower patients with the tools, coping strategies, and resilience needed to navigate life’s challenges and help move towards brighter days ahead.
If you feel you could benefit from this service, please speak to your GP practice to find out more.
Healthier Neighbourhoods PCN have partnered with Energy Projects Plus to support patients living with chronic respiratory conditions such as COPD, Bronchiectasis or Asthma, whose health condition may be affected by cold, damp, or poorly insulated homes. Following your in-practice health check review, you might be eligible for assistance to improve your living conditions and protect your health. A referral to Energy Projects Plus could help with:
- Improving home insulation to keep your home warmer
- Providing advice on energy-saving measures
- Installing energy-efficient heating systems
- Addressing dampness and mould issues
- Helping reduce your energy bills
Your clinician at Prenton and Woodchurch Medical Centre or care coordinator can refer you directly. The support is not means tested and will not affect any employment income or benefits you receive.
Following the referral from your clinician, Energy Projects Plus will contact you to help further.
